Perspectives for High Performance Computing in Workstation Networks
نویسندگان
چکیده
Networks of workstations have become increasingly popular for high performance computing. However, in order to become a real alternative for MPPs, reliability and efficiency issues must be tackled. In this paper, we identify the key challenges for very large workstation networks, and describe implementation techniques at system software level to overcome these problems. CROWN, a testbed for experimenting with these mechanisms is briefly discussed.

A Mobile and Fog-based Computing Method to Execute Smart Device Applications in a Secure Environment
With the rapid growth of smart device and Internet of things applications, the volume of communication and data in networks have increased. Due to the network lag and massive demands, centralized and traditional cloud computing architecture are not accountable to the high users' demands and not proper for execution of delay-sensitive and real time applications. To resolve these challenges, we p...
متن کاملA Sudy on Information Privacy Issue on Social Networks
In the recent years, social networks (SN) are now employed for communication and networking, socializing, marketing, as well as one’s daily life. Billions of people in the world are connected though various SN platforms and applications, which results in generating massive amount of data online. This includes personal data or Personally Identifiable Information (PII). While more and more data a...
متن کامل| a High Performance Platform for Parallel Computing in a Distributed Workstation Environment
The typical workstation in a LAN is idle during large periods of time. Under the concept of a hypercomputer this unused, distributed computing power can be put at the disposal of the user. The dynamic, heterogeneous, and distributed environment calls for a platform taking care of transparency, parallelization, load balancing and other issues. We describe such a system which, by optimized design...

متن کاملARTS of PEACE - A High-Performance Middleware Layer for Parallel Distributed Computing
Parallel cluster architectures are an eeective way to build high-performance computer systems at a moderate price. Consequently clusters will become very attractive to parallel applications and high-end parallel servers, that are usually built around distributed object middleware. Commonly used middleware layers like CORBA have been speciically designed for heterogeneous computing within relati...
